Description
What’s sure to be one of the more unique fall craft fairs is coming to Independence Park, Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, September 6, 2008.
Lined with more than 50 craftspersons and artisans, The Crafting Patch Market will feature sellers ranging from:
- spinners who make unique yarns by hand
- jewelry makers using everything from precious stones to revamped circuit boards to make women’s, men’s and children’s jewelry.
- Handmade clothing from knitters, crocheters, seamstresses
- Hand crafted soaps and bath & beauty products
And more…
The vendors consider themselves among the new wave of crafters who are exploding in the new DIY market. Shoppers can browse through booths whose shopkeepers buck the trend of mass-production, by offering handmade and handcrafted goods that are unique. These independent entrepreneurs are locally based, but also come as far away as New Jersey to participate in what is sure to be a fun event filled with items you can’t find anywhere else.
Shopping begins at 9:00 a.m., admission is free, and parking is available near Independence Park, Charlotte. The event will be held rain or shine. The event is also a drop-off site for donations of clothing and bedding for the Battered Women's Shelter of Charlotte.

Event/Application Rules & Regulations
Awarded spaces are nontransferable. No one will be allowed to vend without first being approved by The Crafting Patch Market’s jury process and secondly, paying the booth fee before the event. Shared spaces are allowed with prior consent by the Market’s administration. Displays must fit into designated spaces and must not encroach on a neighboring vendor’s space.
Vendors must participate the entire day. Set up for the Market is permitted on the evening of September 5, 2008 or starting at 6am on September 6, 2008. Market begins at 8:30am and takedown is at 5pm. Early takedown is only permitted in event of emergency.
Each vendor realizes that this is an outdoor show. There is no level ground as in a mall show and weather can be uncooperative. There will be no refunds due to inclement weather.
The Market is to showcase handmade items. Any items that are not handmade, or vintage in nature will be asked to be removed. Failure to remove such items will result in vendors being removed completely.
Food items are prohibited to be sold in the Market area.
Vendors are responsible for maintaining their booth area and keeping it clear of refuse. Each vendor is responsible for picking up refuse from their area at the end of the day.
Each vendor is responsible for the collection of taxes and reporting said taxes to the State of North Carolina Department of Revenue.
