2006 CHATEAU STE. MICHELLE, COLOMBIA VALLEY, CHARDONNAY
“My goal vintage after vintage is to make the Columbia Valley Chardonnay a pleasurable, food-friendly Chardonnay. This 2006 bottling is a fresh, soft Chardonnay with appealing sweet citrus fruit character with subtle oak nuances. I work with vineyard lots from all over the Columbia Valley to make this a complex, interesting wine. This is a versatile food wine that can work with many foods including chicken, pork and white sauce pastas.”

2006 CHATEAU STE. MICHELLE, COLOMBIA VALLEY, DRY RIESLING
“For 15 years we made a special dry Riesling just for the Northwest. The wine developed a loyal following and sold out quickly every year. Slowly we started hearing from customers in other parts of the country who wanted this dryer style Riesling. Starting with this 2006 vintage, we are happy to offer our Dry Riesling nationwide. The Chateau Ste. Michelle Dry Riesling is a dry, crisp, refreshing style of Riesling with beautiful forward fruit flavors, crisp acidity and an elegant finish. It offers brisk, cooler climate Riesling character of white peach and mandarin oranges with a clean finish. We followed the German model for classifying this as a dry Riesling and made it in the “Troken” style. Our Dry Riesling is very versatile with food. Try it with Asian dishes or shrimp.”

2005 CHATEAU STE. MICHELLE, INDIAN WELLS, CABERNET SAUVIGNON
“The Indian Wells Cabernet is our warm climate ripe, jammy Cabernet. The 2005 bottling is no exception. The wine exudes sweet blackberry pie and vanilla aromas and flavors with loads of complexity. This is our big bold, obvious Cabernet and after just two vintages, it has quickly become a fan favorite. Wonderful Cab from such esteemed growers as Indian Wells, Jones, Washington Fruit and even Cold Creek Vineyard are woven together with a little Syrah to make a wine that says boldly ‘I’m from Washington.’ Meant to enjoy in its youth, try it with shish kabobs, a flat iron steak or even with a nibble of dark chocolate.” -Bob Bertheau, Head Winemaker

Lean and crisp, with juicy acidity to balance the ripe plum and currant flavors, which persist beautifully and expressively on the open-textured finish. Hints of cream and spice make it even more interesting. Drink now through 2012. 600 cases made. –HS
