2006 HANDLEY PINOT GRIS, ANDERSON VALLEY

The luscious viscosity of this wine is evident when it is swirled in the glass. Tangerine aromas precede equally fresh tangerine flavors, with a hint of honeysuckle. It is rich and full on the palate, with distinctive Pinot Gris aromatics throughout.
A Vietnamese curry with chicken and coconut milk is a good match for this Pinot Gris: the wine’s mineral qualities balance the richness of the coconut milk, its slight residual sugar holds up to spicy chilies, and its aromatics play off the curry’s spices.

Aromas of melon and lychee are enhanced by heady orange blossom perfume. The palate is layered with spice, grapefruit, and peaches.
The clean fruit flavors and excellent structure of this dry wine make it a natural partner to a wide variety of food, from mildly spicy Thai curries to classic Alsace sauerbraten.
2005 HANDLEY ZINFANDEL, REDWOOD VALLEY
On the nose, our Redwood Valley Zinfandel is reminiscent of cherry pie: cherries enhanced by vanilla and cinnamon. Hints of bitter chocolate and vanilla add depth to ripe cherry and raspberry flavors.
This Zinfandel is a bit softer and less assertive than other Zinfandels, and can therefore be served with foods that might not be normally associated with Zinfandel: try it with grilled vegetables, roast chicken, or a hearty vegetable soup.

Deep red in color. The lifted nose has ripe raspberries and anise, with choc mint oak characters. The palate is full bodied with fantastic berry fruit, plums, liquorices and complexing oak. There is a great depth of fruit with savory oak and mouth coating tannins. The fruit, oak and tannins all combine to give the wine great length of flavor. This wine drinks well now and will age up to 7 years.
