Description
| On the second Saturday of each August, Valdese holds its annual Waldensian Festival to commemorate the return of the Waldenses from exile in Switzerland to their native valleys in the Cottian Alps of Italy in 1689. This celebration is mirrored all around the world by other Waldensian communities. Now, as with the first Valdese celebration held in 1976, we invite you to enjoy the rich heritage and magic of the 33rd annual Historic Valdese Waldensian Festival |
Entertainment
| Friday night featuring the sounds of the Tams, their hit songs were chart toppers in the US and Europe making them one of the few if not the only so called beach bands to make it nationally and internationally. Entertainment Saturday will feature several local tallented bands. |

Driving Directions Coming east on Interstate 40, take exit #111 and continue across the bridge. Proceed on Carolina Avenue for about two miles until you reach the Main Street stop light. Take a left and continue on Main Street until you reach the Town Parking Lot adjacent to Wachovia Bank. a kiosk with local information and a town map is in the north-western corner of the parking lot.
Coming west on Interstate 40, take exit #111 and merge onto Flat Gap Road. At the top of the hill, turn right onto Carolina Avenue. Continue for about two miles until you reach the Main Street stop light. Take a left and continue on Main Street until you reach the Town Parking Lot adjacent to Wachovia Bank. a kiosk with local information and a town map is in the north-western corner of the parking lot.
