Description
"Fashions Made Fair" is the theme of the Unitarian Universalist congregation of Frederick"s second annual runway fashion show & sale that will explore the role of Fair Trade and a Fair Supply Chain in the world of fashion and apparel. This event promises to be a fun experience for the entire family. Members of all ages from the UUCF congregation will model Fair Trade apparel from international vendor "One-World-Is-Enough" (UK) and local vendors "The Barefoot Boutique" (New Market, MD), and "Artesania Santa Domingo" (Peruvian alpaca & handcrafts). In addition, models will show off garments and accessories hand crafted by Chandler Designs, Silks by Sandra, and other fiber artists from the UUCF congregation. Featured apparel will be available for purchase after the show, and on December 6 at our Holiday Gift Fair. Professional hair styling and make-up will be provided by The Temple, a Paul Mitchell Partner School.
A light luncheon, catered by JC Cuisine, is included in the ticket price. Coffee and a raffle basket is being donated by Equal Exchange. The UUCF Circle of Life Cooperative Preschool will offer desserts and other treats, baked with fairly traded ingredients, including baking cocoa donated by Equal Exchange.
Doors will open to ticket-holders at 11:45am, and the luncheon will be served at noon. Then sit back, enjoy your luncheon, and watch the runway show! There will be a short intermission for coffee & dessert.
In addition, attend our "Conscientious Consumer Holiday Gift Fair" from 2-5pm, featuring unique fairly traded coffee, tea, chocolate, hand-crafted and eco-friendly gifts from around the world. The Gift Fair continues on Sunday, December 6, 12:30 - 4pm.

Common Rules Selected: Held Rain or Shine! Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |

Driving Directions From Baltimore and points east: Take I-70West, which passes just south of Frederick. When that happens, the exits get closer together. Take Exit 52, Route 340W/ 15S. In about 5 miles, take the Mt. Zion Rd. exit. Turn left at the end of the exit onto Mt. Zion Rd., which will cross over Rt. 15S/340W and become Capstine Rd. After crossing the highway overpass, make the first right onto Elmer Derr Rd. Go about 1 mile to UUCF, on the right.
From Washington, D.C. and points south: Take I-270 North to I-70 West. In about 1 mile, take Exit 52, Route 340W/ 15S. Follow above directions from there.
From Hagerstown and points west: Take I-70 East to Exit 52, Route 340W/15S. Follow above directions from there.
From Pennsylvania and points north: Take Route 15 South through Frederick. About 5 miles south of Frederick, take the Mt. Zion Rd. exit. Follow above directions from there.
From the southwest and nearby Northern Virginia: Take 340 East/15 North. Take the Mt. Zion Exit and make two immediate rights onto Elmer Derr Road. Go about 1 mile to UUCF, on the right.
