Description
We are excited to get started on our fifth year April 2008. See, greet, and meet your friends and neighbors on the square. 50+ vendors return each 1st Saturday to their roost. We have nearly 90% return, 40% pay for the year. Hand made quilts are displayed and sold. Local business and organizations are out to meet you as well. Purchase real right off the farm produce when available. Kettle corn is flying out the kettle. Special and tasty breads, deserts are for sale too. Be there at high noon and listen to the church bells play gospel songs from the church bell tower. Established business include 4 restaurants, a bookstore and this and that. Stay a spell in Newnan.

We offer annual Membership in Main Street Newnan for $200.00 Advantages are, booth space cost are lower.
    You keep your booth space for the year if you want.*
    You get preference if you want to move your booth.
    No need to re-apply each month.

Booth space will be assigned as follows: Annual Members in Mainstreet 2008 will be allowed to keep their 2007 spots.
Returning vendors from 2007, will be given preference as to their location in 2008.**
New vendors will be assigned booth space that becomes vacant.

* Mainstreet is dedicated to putting on a show, and to that end, must have vendors each month. Therefore, should a regular annual member miss two shows in concession, their space will be subject to being assigned to another vendor. They will be kept in the show, once they return.

** Vendors can sign up on a month to month basis and request the same space.

Alies Holt, Event Director is the final authority for all Main Street Market Day jury decision, booth assignments, vendor rules and applications, and any other matters needed to be settled. The website is maintained by a volunteer administrator and is subject to changes and errors.

Advertising Done for This Event
Press Releases, Local FM Radio Stations will be doing live remote broadcast all day, Local TV shows, AJC, Newnan Times Herald, numerous websites, Lifestyles Magazine, Newnan-Coweta Magazine, etc. Signage the week of the show. Advertising budget for the year around $3,000.

Event/Application Rules & Regulations
The Main Street Market Day Committee is currently accepting applications on a month to month basis. You will be notified of your acceptance status by the 25th of the preceeding month.  The application deadline for Annual Vendors is May 12, 2008; the application deadline for monthly vendors is the 20th of each month.  Included in this packet, you will find 2 applications:  an annual vendor application and a monthly vendor application.  Please fill out the appropriate application.  If you have been a previous Market Day vendor, you are not guaranteed to have the same location and are not guaranteed to be accepted for 2008.

VENDOR OPTIONS

Option A:  Annual Vendor
·     As an annual vendor, you will need to submit the Market Day application once.  It will be on file the entire year.  Please notify Alise Cartledge of any changes in your contact information.
·     An annual vendor pays $200 for the entire year.  
o     The first $100 payment is due with your 2008 Market  Day application.
o     The second $100.00 payment is due July 1, 2008.
o     You can pay the entire $200 upfront with your application if you so choose.  
·     In addition to your first application, please send at least 3 photos representing the items you will be selling. Produce, plants and baked goods are excluded from this rule.  If you would like the photos returned to you, please include a stamped, self-addressed enveloped.  
·     Photos are only required with your first application; however, you must send in photos for new products you wish to sell each month.
·     Annual vendors will be given the same booth space for the entire year upon acceptance.
·     If you miss two consecutive Market Days without at least a 7-day notification to Main Street, your vendor location will be considered open to new monthly vendors.
·     If you are not chosen as an annual vendor, you will be notified and the check will be voided or returned to you.

Option B:  Monthly Vendor
·     You must submit a monthly application to the Market Day Committee, which can be found at  http://www.mainstreetnewnan.com or by calling the Main Street office.  Each application and payment is due the 20th of the month prior to the event.
·     In addition to your first application, please include at least 3 photos representing the items you will be selling.  Produce, plants and baked goods are excluded from this rule.  If you would like the photos returned to you, please include a stamped, self-addressed enveloped.  
·     Photos are only required with your first application; however, you must send in photos for new products you wish to sell each month.
·     You will be assigned a vendor space each month.  This may not be the same location each month.
·     As a monthly vendor, you are required to notify the Market Day Committee if you will be attending each month.

VENDOR REQUIREMENTS
All items sold at Market Day must be personally handmade, homemade and/or homegrown.  On your application, include every item you will be selling; i.e. beaded jewelry, honey, wooden benches, and baby blankets.   You will be asked to remove anything from your booth that is not on your application or that has not been juried by the Market Day Committee.

Upon acceptance, you are assigned a 10 x 10 booth location around the Courthouse Square.  You may begin setting up Saturday at 6 am.  You must be set up no later than 9:30 am and your car away from the curb. Your booth location will be chalked on the sidewalk with your booth number and last name.   Please provide your own tables, chairs, canopy, extension cord, etc.  Please bring duct tape to secure the extension cord crossing the sidewalks.

PARKING
Upon acceptance, you will receive a Vendor Welcome Packet.  This will include instructions, vendor locations and maps, parking locations and a parking permit.  This parking permit must be visible on your car dashboard the day of the event for loading, unloading and parking in the assigned vendor parking lot.  Any vendor found parking outside of the assigned lot will be banned from Market Day.
*If you are bringing a trailer, please unload the trailer in front of your booth location and park it with your car in the assigned parking lot.  There will be Market Day representatives to help you with the traffic while loading and unloading.  Please bring small orange caution cones to place behind your trailer for visibility.  

RESTROOMS Portable only at this time. Please do not use the downtown merchants’ restrooms.

ENTRY FEES
The Market Day Entry Fee is required before the event takes place, due to the amount of ‘no-shows’ we had in 2007. Main Street must receive your application with a check or money order (no cash, please) for the fee on or before the 20th of the month prior to the event.  No money will be accepted the day of the event.  The entry fee is non-refundable except if the event is cancelled due to severe weather.  

Entry Fees for Monthly Vendors:  $25.00 per month DUE THE 20TH OF EACH MONTH  
                               $15.00 per non-profit entry

Common Rules Selected: Previous acceptance does not guarantee re-acceptance. Include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope with enough postage for the jury materials you are sending to be returned to you. Spots are assigned prior to show based by promoter. Conditional Partial or Full Refunds by conditions such as date and whether your space is resold. ALL product categories must be itemized on the application. No streamer poppers, snaps, silly string, stink bombs or other similar items may be sold! These are retail items and prohibited. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. No Gas Generators. Pets OK! NO Setup allowed until vehicle fully unloaded and moved. Vehicles sometimes can not find parking near booth for loading in or loading out. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space. No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible. Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards. No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax.

No pop guns, marshmellow guns or other disruptive items may be sold. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. No Gas Generators. Canopies must be weighted down, no stakes allowed in ground. No Early Packup Allowed. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space. No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible. Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards. No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area. All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax.

Event Quality Level Determining Flags:
A single-person or more panel jury reviews slides or photos and display.
All items must be entirely hand-made, no Embellishments only.
All items must be entirely hand-made by the artist alone.
All items must be Fine Craft or Art.
Limited number of Artists per category.
Artist must be present day of show.
All product types to be sold must be listed on application.
Pre-show inspection of items and booths will be performed.
Vendors with items violating contract terms WILL BE asked to remove them.
