Description
The ultimate holiday shopping experience. The Madison Holiday Market is an exciting new gift show that is the first event of its kind in Central Wisconsin. It will be the next big "must-attend" event on the Madison community's calendar. With major event sponsorship secured from local print, radio, and TV media, the event will draw over 10,000 people with their holiday gift lists in hand ready to shop. The Holiday Market in Madison is not a craft fair, art fair, or traditional non-profit fundraiser, but it has elements of all three.
As shoppers enter the beautifully decorated Alliant Energy Center, they will immediately be thrust into the holiday spirit as a result of the festive decor and music. Attendees will be provided with oversized shopping bags featuring the event and sponsor logos, as well as a booklet that describes each of the merchants and provides a cross-referenced map for locating all merchants.
The 2007 Holiday Market will feature 100-200 merchants offering unique items for the entire family, including home décor, apparel, accessories, jewelry, novelties, pottery, gourmet food, toys, and much more. Merchants will include high quality national artisans and crafts people with unique handmade niche products, locally owned specialty stores, resort community gift shops, and major household names in the retail sector. Product price points will range from $3 - $3,000+ with tremendous variety in the types of products available.
To enhance their overall shopping experience, attendees will be able to take advantage of a package check and delivery system that gets their gifts to the trunks of their cars, an entertainment stage featuring performances by local choirs and holiday acts, and quality food and beverage options in a bistro-type setting. The average shopper will likely spend 2-3 hours at the event in a given day.
This Holiday Market in Madison is modeled after several extraordinarily successful similar events in other cities and is sure to generate huge interest in the thriving retail market of Madison. The event is three days long and will also include an upscale ticketed preview party and private shopping on the eve of the show. The entire project is organized and run by the Friends of Madison Ballet with proceeds going towards Madison Ballet's scholarship and outreach programs that help bring the arts to children throughout South Central Wisconsin that would not typically have access to the arts. |
Event/Application Rules & Regulations
Will be provided to accepted applicants. A 10% commission is charged on ALL sales and special orders. Common Rules Selected: Previous acceptance does not guarantee re-acceptance. Include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope with enough postage for the jury materials you are sending to be returned to you. Vendors can share a booth. Spots are assigned prior to show based by promoter. No Refunds or Show Credits. Held Rain or Shine! Overnight Security Provided. ALL product categories must be itemized on the application. No vendor may sell any soft drinks, name brand drinks, or bottled water. No streamer poppers, snaps, silly string, stink bombs or other similar items may be sold! No pop guns, marshmellow guns or other disruptive items may be sold. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. No Gas Generators. Additional Lighting Recommended (bring lights and cords). No Early Packup Allowed. Food Service will take orders from and deliver to vendor booths. Event Helping Hands will come around/be available to relieve you for short periods. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |
