Description
The annual University of Idaho WomensWorks Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair. Women artists from around the Palouse transform the UI Student Union Ballroom into a magical, festive landscape of arts and crafts, including: jewelry, handmade cards and prints, beadwork, fiber art, pottery, stained glass, candles, soaps, hand-blown glass, handmade paper journals, quilts, and more. International cuisine available for purchase throughout the fair. Live instrumental holiday music provided by local musicians, continual raffles of artist-donated items. All WomensWorks artists donate a percentage of their proceeds to support Women's Center scholarships for needy, under-represented, and minority students. Free admission and parking! Event/Application Rules & Regulations
- No booth spaces held without payment.
- No booth fee refunds after deadline date.
- Original and handcrafted work only. No commercial or mass-produced products, catalogue crafts, kits, imports, or art/crafts that rely heavily on machine processing for their creation.
- WOMEN artists/crafters only!
- Artist/crafter must attend her booth at all times.
- Artist/crafter must be present on both days, set up on time for start at 10:00 am each day, and keep booth set up until concluding time of fair.
- The Women's Center reserves the right to decline participation of any artist whose work we feel:
(1) does not comply with the guidelines detailed above;
(2) is deemed either unoriginal or offensive in nature;
(3) does not meed our standards for quality;
(4) is already heavily represented by other registered vendors.
Common Rules Selected: Previous acceptance does not guarantee re-acceptance. Vendors can share a booth. Spots are assigned prior to show based by promoter. Conditional Partial or Full Refunds by conditions such as date and whether your space is resold. Held Rain or Shine! Overnight Security Provided. No streamer poppers, snaps, silly string, stink bombs or other similar items may be sold! No pop guns, marshmellow guns or other disruptive items may be sold. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. No Gas Generators. Additional Lighting Recommended (bring lights and cords). No Early Packup Allowed. Raffle / Door Prize Donation Required. Table Cloth or Drape Required. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |
Event Quality Level Determining Flags:
All items must be entirely hand-made, no Embellishments only. All items must be entirely hand-made by the artist alone. All items must be Fine Craft or Art. Limited number of Artists per category. Artist must be present day of show. Table cloths required. No inventory boxes in view. Exhibitors must wear name badges. Determined Quality Level: 5
