Description
Unique opportunity for students and adults alike to see demonstrations of skills and crafts from the past, such as blacksmithing, mules grinding sugar cane, and corn milling at the water-powered grist mill. Women's chores of washing, candle making, and cooking on an open fire are also demonstrated. A guided nature hike and a tour of the old barn's agricultural implements are available. Group must schedule in advance. Admission: students $2.00; teachers are free.
How to Get There: Rikard's Mill is located 22 miles north of Monroeville, just north of Beatrice off Highway 265. Driving South on I-65, the mill is approximately 35 miles west off the Greenville Pine Apple Exit. Rikard’s Mill Historical Park, located between Monroeville and Camden on Hwy. 265, $5 for students, teachers & chaperones This is a unique opportunity for students and adults alike to see demonstrations of skills and crafts from the past, such as blacksmithing, mules grinding sugar cane, and corn milling at the 1845 water-powered grist mill.
