Description
20 artists and artisans offer their wares in this small but fine show.
I'm very excited about this show - we have old favorites and new talents to offer those seeking fine handcrafted, yet affordable gifts this season. In a scary economy, I think more and more of us are shopping locally and supporting our own community structures. A few of our artists are broadening their horizons to express new talents, too. Celebrated folk artist Margaret Shaw has not only authored a book on her punch needle patterns, she is now creating jewelry from found objects. Noted ceramicist Margo West is offering her beautiful purses at this show. We have two potters new to the show, Thaya Rowe and Hazel Shroen. Another new face is Carol Scott, who sews beautiful clothing for children and adults. Lynn and David Yates are taking a break from their Ann Arbor 7th Street show and are bringing their stunning wares in fiber and wood to Chelsea this year. Jody Mankerian owns a popular gift shop in historic Marshall, but she'll be spending the day offering her unique folk items at our show. We'll have returning favorites Susan Falcone, Sandra Somers, Lauren Kingsley, Bobbie VanEck and more. We'll also have honey, artisan bread, and handmade soaps for sale. Event/Application Rules & Regulations
Common Rules Selected: A percentage of vendors are cycled out each year to maintain freshness. Held Rain or Shine! Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |
Event Quality Level Determining Flags:
A multiple-person panel jury thoroughly reviews slides or photos and display.
All items must be entirely hand-made, no Embellishments only.
All items must be entirely hand-made by the artist alone.
All items must be Fine Craft or Art.
Limited number of Artists per category.
Floor length table cloths required.
No inventory boxes in view.
All product types to be sold must be listed on application.
Pre-show inspection of items and booths will be performed.
Vendors with items violating contract terms WILL BE asked to remove them.
