The annual pawpaw festival will be held in Waynesville City Park and Historic Courthouse Square from 9 AM to 4 PM. There will be a free horse & buggy ride as well as a tram to transport festival goers. This event features food, rides, old time games, tours, pickin', yard sale, art sale, theatre, largest pawpaw contest, storytellin', pawpaw tasting, demonstrations such as wood carving, basketmaking, tatting, doll making, classic car show, antique motor and tractors, free kids activities and a contest for the largest pawpaw with savings bond as a prize.
There will be a variety of entertainment throughout the day in the park such as jazz band, praise band, mime, clogging, singing, dancing. At the City Square will be some old time fiddlin', harmonica, dulcimer, autoharp, singing, story swapping & more.
Guided tours of the Historic Courthouse and Museum as well as the Old Stagecoach Stop are free. Taste complimentary pawpaw cookies & lemonade, pawpaw souvenirs to purchase, pawpaws for sale, pawpaw plants for purchase, bring a pawpaw win a prize, Kid's Korner hands-on activities, small animals, horse rides, old tyme kid's games - jacks, graces, marbles, hoops.
