NOT Needed: We do not need a food vendor now and we have enough people that have responded now with jewelry.
This is a first year show. No percentages are available on application acceptance rates.
Applications are Screened & Accepted progressively, as they arrive, until all spaces are filled.

Description
School fundraiser showcasing Holiday shopping. We need artisans, crafters and home-based businesses. We are a large school system (3700 students) bordering Kalamazoo and VanBuren counties. All arts and crafts must be handmade by the vendor. Only one of each "party plan" home business is allowed. Preference given to Mattawan resident for those, and a waiting list retained for others. Email for guidelines and registration form.
Artisans, Crafters and home-based businesses will be showcased for this holiday shopping event. All proceeds benefit the students and teachers of Mattawan Middle School.

Advertising Done for This Event
| We will advertise in the following ways...sent home with each student by weekly building flyers, our quarterly newsletter to all district residents, WKZO, local businesses, newspapers, on the internet, Community calendar of TV stations, signs posted on major intersections, and through participating vendors. |
Event/Application Rules & Regulations
QUALITY CONTROL:
All applicants should send in a photo of their work in with the registration form.
Home-based businesses will be given 2 weeks to return application from date received. After this time period, the spot will be given to someone else of the same business type.
Each vendor must bring a tablecloth to cover their display table. (this makes everything look nice).
You may bring your own tables or rent from us.
You are responsible for bringing your own chairs.
Electrical outlets are available but limited. Please let us know if you need one.
Vendors will be mailed or emailed a copy of the flyer and be responsible for making copies and distributing 50 of them. (Another way to get the word out.)
You will be solely responsible for your own sales. Have adequate change on hand. You may accept checks and credit cards like normal.
Mattawan Consolidated Schools will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to the vendors person or property.
No open flame.
No smoking on school property.
We reserve the right to decline any vendor whose items are not appropriate for our school function.
Confirmation of vendor acceptance will be given via email or phone call.
APPLICATIONS: Please complete application form, enclose photo of craft item, provide a self-addressed envelope if you want your photo returned, and booth fee payable to: MMSPA (Mattawan Middle School Parents Association) and mail to:

Deadline for entry is August 30, 2007. Consideration may be given to late entries if space is available and we reserve the right to charge a late fee.
If your craft does not fit our criteria, everything will be returned to you. *ENTRY FEE IS NONREFUNDABLE AFTER ACCEPTANCE
Common Rules Selected: Vendors can share a booth. Spots are assigned prior to show based by promoter. No Refunds or Show Credits. Held Rain or Shine! ALL product categories must be itemized on the application. No vendor may sell any soft drinks, name brand drinks, or bottled water. No streamer poppers, snaps, silly string, stink bombs or other similar items may be sold! No pop guns, marshmellow guns or other disruptive items may be sold. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. No Gas Generators. No Early Packup Allowed. Table Cloth or Drape Required. Food Service will take orders from and deliver to vendor booths. Event Helping Hands will come around/be available to relieve you for short periods. NO Setup until vehicle fully unloaded and moved. Vehicles can not be brought near stand for un/loading. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |
Event Quality Level Determining Flags:

Pre-show inspection of items and booths will be performed.
Vendors with items violating contract terms WILL BE asked to remove them.

Driving Directions From the east/west: take I-94 to exit 66 Mattawan. Go south to McGillen Street and turn right(west). Follow to the end of the street and follow the signs.
From the north/south: take US-131 to the I-94 exchange going west. Go two more exits to Mattawan and follow the above directions.
