We've been entrepeneurs for almost 20 years & 2009 is not starting out well. The cusotmers at the shows in Dec.,2008, & last weekend are worried about the future & hesitant to spend money. I don't blame them. As vendors, we don't need the government breathing down our necks with that stupid CPSIA of 2008. Who is going to patrol the shows, investigate the merchandise, enforce the rules?? Are we going to see SWAT Teams at the shows??

2009 show prospects? - 2009/01/15 - Becky McMullen
After being hit by Ike, I will be really careful in the shows I pick this year and a great deal will be shows I'm already familiar with. I'll be doing the Buna Redbud Festival because it has always been decent in the past and I combine it with a trip to visit friends in Warren. I've already paid for the Sam Houston show in May in Humble, but with this new law, I fully expect it to get canceled because of the CPSIA law as Friday is the day all the buses of children show up. Remains to be seen.
