| Identification: Produce spores from various, usually club shaped, microscopic structures known as basidia. Description: This subdivision contains nearly all the woody fungi and nearly all the large fleshy fungi. It includes all but a few of the known edible and poisonous mushrooms. It includes: gilled mushrooms, boletes, puffballs, jelly fungi, chanterelles, corals, tooth fungi, polypores, and crust fungi.
